Need some advice please.

Having replaced the wallboard in my caravan I need to fix the brackets for the bed box to the wall . Originally these were riveted into the wall with special rivets that I’m finding hard to source. Is there any other way I could fix them to the wall?

Would it be ok just to screw into the wallboard bearing in mind that the screws would only be going into the wallboard and not into any wood spars.

you could use butterfly fittings.these are like a wall plug only they pushed into the hole and expand behind the panel/wallboard as the screw is screwed in.try screwfix.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

I would add ( glue on ) a extra piece of wall board 'say' a 6" square , at the places where the bed frame would screw to the wall . This would help in 2 ways , it would give you extra thickness of wood to screw into and would help spread the load over more wall area .
Or add a extra leg to support the back of the bed box at each place where it connects to the wall , you could screw and glue these to the wall , then screw down through the bed box into the top of the legs .

They are called Peel Rivets; do a quick search and you will find lots of companies can supply them.

See eBay Item number: 260767785615 for an example
