Anyone help with this one.

I have just been on a caravan trip only to find after hooking up there is a hairline crack in the water housing on the side of the van. Water sprayed all over the inside of my van under the seats when I activated the pump. Its not repairable and I need to take it out and replace it with another truma. Iv'e established its a truma crystal 3 which looks like a mains plug socket. Apparently Truma binned this design after 6 months. Does anyone know which is the right truma model to replace it. I have ordered the the compact conversion kit which appears to have no filter so I guess is the wrong type ?

Any ideas, and cheapest place to get a new inlet kit and which type

Thanks

Michael, thanks for getting back so fast,

I've looked at the inlet you have suggested however this looks like an older Truma Model ( older pump connection socket ) Its not the same as mine ( also an old model ) which is a truma crystal 3 where there are 2 flanges holding the pump plug in place. I would be quite happy to replace mine with the type youve suggested however i'm interested to know if the latest truma models would be compatible with my van.

Cheers

Rob

I think Michael's refering to my fitment of the Ultraflow housing from a recent thread.

I replaced the original Crystal standard inlet on my van for the Ultraflow (non-filtered), plus recently changed the housing on my in-laws van too to the one you need and as per Michael's photo/link.
The Ultraflow is a far better and more reliable housing, but the mounting holes are in a slightly different position to the housing you have. Fitting is straightforward providing you arm yourself with some mastic to re-seal too and take care with centering the Ultraflow properly in the aperture you'll have when removing the current inlet. I'm working on a conversion instruction (with photo's) to add to my link below in signature.
I bought from a retailer on fleabay but Waudbys have the version you need listed too:

Check if you need the ivory or white model.

And finally, here's another link to the Truma Ultraflow conversion kit on their website.

Cheers Paul,

My dad has a coachman VIP which is a couple of years old. I have popped around and measured the truma unit on the side of his van and its roughly the same width as my old unit (13.5cm) and the upper screws appear to be horizontally in the same place ( about 10cm apart ). The big difference is the length. The truma ultra flow appears to be 22cm in length wheras mine is about 18cm. The only complication I can see is the hole size through the caravan wall. Its possible it might be too small to allow through the outlet connections on the back of the new truma as it is longer

I've already got the mastictape from ebay and have successfully removed the old unit today by removing the 4 screws and using a wall paper scraper to prise it away from the old mastic. So far so good no damage.

Rob
