I would welcome all ideas on this one please, I have pretty much re timbered and insulated the swift front now (well one side and half the front) and wondered if there is any point in using the proper wall board which is available but expensive or to just use plywood and paint it.

I am pretty sure that even with all the rot and damp gone the van still has little value its an 89 Corniche 14/2 and just can't decide which way to go!!

Cheers

My advice would be do a proper job , you've put all the effort in to repair it , may as well finish it off nice . Most plywood is 3.6mm thick , where as wallboard is 3mm thick and you should be able to cut it with a stanly knife .
Ask the place where your going to buy it if they have any off cuts , they might be quite a bit cheaper . Also have a check on ebay for wall board .

I have just completed a similar job on my 1993 Wisp. The original supplying dealer had an almost identical wallboard and cut it in half lengthways for me. Got it for £20. More than enough material to cover the front and some of it is under the blinds/flyscreens. But what is visible is just like the rest of the caravan.

I'm very pleased with the result and it was well worth £20.
