I apologise for asking this as I know that it has been covered many times, but we want to clean all the water pipes tomorrow before going away later in the week and would like advise on the best method. We have some Milton but I seem to think that it has been mentioned that this should not be left in the system for very long before completely flushing through. Do you suggest filling the Aquaroll and letting it pump through the system, leaving for a period and then flushing out, followed by a couple of sessions with clear water? Advice would be appreciated so that hubby can get on with the job in the morning as I wouldn't like to give him any excuse not to get on with the job!!!
Once we have the steadies down i Fill up the water container and drop in a few milton tablets. Then pump it through the pipes and leave it for the required 10 mins (while we get on with the rest of the setting up) then i dispose of that water and get fresh and Give it a Good flush through. I have herd that leaving the milton in the pipes for a long time can damege them but with the tablets you only need to leave the for 10 mins
Do just what youve said but use chempro its designed for that job.Milton i feel is not really strong enough to kill all the germs/bacteria in the water system..
I have used Milton and providing it's not left long it does the job. Migrated to Puriclean this year though and found it does the job better and doesn't need so much of a rinse to get the 'aftertaste' out of the system.
Many thanks to you all for your advice and hubby took a trip to our local Halfords this morning to purchase the Puriclean which he has put through the water system this afternoon. He flushed the system through with clear water and intends to just give it a second flush through tomorrow before we head off for our first trip of the year on Thursday. Thanks again to all who replied.
