Used the heater for 1st time this year and after turning off a constant ticking (similar to kitchen timer) sound started. Initially OH said it was the metal contracting as it cooled down but it continued annoyingly through the night and is still ticking today more than 24 hours later. Can anyone help before I contact Truma tomorrow?

Sounds like it was the ignitor trying to ignite the gas . Where you running the heater on gas ?

This as said sounds to me like the gas control knob is not fully in the 'off' position, if not then the gas fires ignition spark is what you are hearing

Many thanks Wizard and Gary. Tried the gas control knob and the ticking stopped. Strange though as we've never used gas.
