I AM IN NEED OF SOME URGENT ADVICE

My electrolux RM212 fidge is working on gas but the freezer part is working but not the fridge side. Any ideas.

I thought the cold from the freeze compartment cooled the rest of the fridge

That's what mine seems to do.

How do you actually know the fridge part is not working, have you just put your hand in to feel if it's cold?

The cold plate in the freezer compartment is very cold, but the vines in the fridge are no dropping in temperature to cool the fridge.

It's actually hard to tell if the fridge is getting cold so the best thing to do is to leave the fridge running on gas, turn up the thermostat dial as high as it will go, put in a proper fridge thermometer and leave it for about 12 hours. Return after 12 hours and see what the thermostat is reading. The temperature should be round about 5-6 degrees celcius. If it hasn't decreased to this temperature then you need to have a service engineer to it because if the thermostat was malfunctioning the freezer wouldn't get cold either.

This is exactly the same problem I'm having with mine! The freezer works fantastic but the fridge has very little cooling even after a few days. I would assume there is a fault that would cause this?

Funny thing happened after removing the fridge on site cleaning the jet out and leaving it up side down for several hours it was still the same so i removed the freezer door and managed with that.
Then i returned home switched the gas on and bingo door replaced and it cooled down.
Spoke to a caravan shop and they said that due to the age of the fridge and the extreme temperature at the time it could take up to 24 hours to cool, and they said to use propane instead of butane and that i should cool the fridge 2 days prior to going away on electric.Having only one electric socket for towing i now think i should fit the second to cool the fridge in transit.
Something they did mention that the fridge cools according to the outside temperature.
They also said if the freezer side works the fridge side will as they are part of the same function
So i have not investigated this any further will do all the above before my next outing to see what happens.

from my earlier post.

ours goes from a 1 - 7 setting,7 being the coldest.just this morning i have put the fridge on to cool for week before setting off.i will tell you of the temperatures tonight.i have a gauge in the fridge area and the ice box.because a fridge works on heat if you leave your outside covers on it will get colder in the fridge,covers normally only required at outside temperature of minus 10.it is set at 4 now.the outside temperature also has also to be taken into account.
