You will have a problem with the hatch for the spare wheel, the carpet is wrapped around it and goes down the sides of the hole so when you remove the carpet you will have quite a large gap.I added some strips of wood to the hatch itself with glue and screws to make the gap smaller and then have covered it with flat aluminium strips screwed to the hatch so it will lift out.
If you want to seal the edges use use a small bead of good quality clear silicone sealer, allow it to cure for a few minutes and run a wet finger along and you will hardly see it.
If you want to stick it down use either double sided tape for vinyl or vinyl adhesive, carpet double sided will react with the vinyl and go all gooey.
All vinyls now are made to lay flat and will cause a bubble if left too big i use a hooked blade in the knife but this takes practice.
Be careful how you measure the floor and if you are having a wood board design the boards usually run down the length of the material.
The vinyl planks are very hard wearing but need to be stuck down and are quite heavy.
You may tell from all this that i am a carpet fitter
