Hi, we are new to this site and hope someone can help us with our recently aquired Mercedes Sprinter Camper.
It has a Carver cascade Mk2 water heater fitted and when we switch it on connected to electric mains, water immediately pours out of the vent on the side of the van. I have not tried it on gas but assume the same thing would occur. There is only a trickle of water at the kitchen taps and nothing at the bathroom sink or shower head.
As a technofobe i am hoping someone may be able to help us virgins with this as we are itching to get out and about with our van.
...or if the drain bung is ok, then directly above it is the 'quick drain valve' and it's been left open, a simple quarter turn with a screw driver shuts it.
The water is gurgling out the square hole in the plate on the outside of the van. There appears to be some sort of valve there which is socket shaped with a tiny ball bearing in its centre.
Thank you for the drawing,it looks like the valve within the flue nose, but i shall renew the pressure relief valve as a matter of course. I have been bidding on complete heater assemblies on ebay and would have spent a small fortune. Thank you so much for your help.
