Hello My Carver Heater Cascade 2 is leaking on my van .It leaks from the inside end of the heater where you have the 13mm nut follow by the plastic washer holding in the rubber seal . I forgot to drain the tank in the winter and I think this is the cause of our problem .
I have seen repair kits on ebay but cannot find anybody that sells just this particular washer and also the plastic outerwasher has slight damage damage do I would like a new one of these .
Could anybody point me in the right direction .Thanks
Its great that you have recorded the job by taking photos and putting them on flikre .
In hindsight I unscrewed the nut using just my hand and not a spanner .Im guessing that is possible that it has vibrated lose on the run (possibly). We are at the moment away in the van so i might try to borrow a spanner and try to tighten it
hia jeremy i bought my parts off e-bay,this company sells just the seals excellent value and next day delivery, here are there details. keith/rose 07967911881 or rosewood1 at hotmail.co.uk or e-bay rosefacchini.good luck and best wishes.geoff.
you don't need the old type plastic collar, this can if required be replaced with the aluminium one, however and unless split, the plastic one can be reused.
Pictures are interesting but I'm left wondering why you fitted the tie rod upside down?
Also don't like the fact the tie rod is not correctly painted, sorry but I don't give it much chance of lasting long!
In short you can take your chances on ebay, and if you do don't ring me for advice, or, you can buy the correctly made parts of me and get the advice and back up free.
