only recently changed from tent to caravan and had our first extended trip away in a 1998 Ariva.
I connected the submersable pump to the inlet socket as instructed and all seemed to work fine. Then noticed that when we draw water via the cold tap there is a stream of water coming from the square hole between the pump connection and the filter cartridge. There is also I think a coresponding "cough" in the flow from the taps as if there is air in the system although we still get water flow.
With the two of us we seem to go through a 40l tank in about 24 hours. This seems a bit excessive for what we do so suspect the loss from the external connection is causing that.
Would like a bit of advice on whether this is normal or not. If not, any thoughts on the cause.
i expect someone has over tightened the filter and cracked it, first thing to do is take the filter out and have a look, even a hairline crack leaks alot of water, ive had this with that unitafter only 9 months, so i change for this one here

i had this one time and the investigation found that the water pipe had pulled off inside the white box fitting that pushes into the van..easy fix though.just two screws to undo, carefully open it up and push the pipe back on fully.close as you opened it.take care not to bend the contacts inside.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
The pipe often pops off when the filter unit freezes up and if it does not come off the filter unit often cracks due to the expansion of ice as it freezes. Always worth removing the filter if you expect very cold weather and there is no heat in the caravan. The filters simply do not drain down due to the way they are designed.
