Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows the details of the 'make up of a caravan floor ? My floor needs replaced and would like to find out how it is made up, and of what before I get stuck in, I have an ABI Celebration 450 CT, I've e-mailed ABI, to see if they can send me the plans or drawing of the caravan, but as yet I've had no responce.

Things I would like to know, thickness of ply on top and bottom of floor

are there any beams running from side to side, I think there are, but are difficult to see

Can i just cut a hole section of floor out, or do i have to do it bit by bit, do the sides get their support from floor ?

Sorry for all questions, but I don't want to dive in and make a total hash of it, although there are a few floor repairs on here, no-one 'that I can see' has went into detail of their repairs etc

Many thanks again

Alan

Ok, done some googling

The floor is a sandwich construction, basicly 5mm ply top and bottom, 35ish mm insulation in between along with beams in more highly stressed areas, them laminated together in a large press...

I guess that gives you an idea (and me lol).

below is a side view of floor construction....the soft floor feeling comes from the separation of these three things as the glue degrades.
