Just interested to see what you guys use to clean the exterior of your vans?

Personally I only use Fenwics Caravan Cleaner and Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler to rinse - think it is the best by far and no need to polish van afterwards. Economical too, one bottle goes a long way.

Any thoughts?

Found a much much better product after using Fenwics for a long time. It was recommended to me by a professional. Now I would not use anything else. Shop about for it you can get some good BOGOF deals on Ebay

Yeah but Greased Lightening is waterless, How would it go about getting a really dirty, green algae covered caravan clean?

Im a big fan of showroom shine and its one of the best cleaner/polish on the market. It will clean a van as you desribed but not as good unless you have polished with it from the start.
Once you have cleaned the van say with fenicks, you then polish it with showroom shine.Once you have that first coat on i can assure you you can wipe of the green mould etc with ease..

I see what you mean, I have tried other waterless products on my car before now and they do give good shine with little effort, not used them for totally cleaning it though and they would not be suitable for the caravans I clean, some of them are absolutely filthy and thick with algae - never been cleaned for years. I'ts always gonna be fenwicks for those. Then again, Bobby Dazzler does leave a great shine and makes the next clean so much easier.

I've tried a couple of dry wash products and have found 'One Dry Wash' the best - It does a really good job and does not scratch.  It does polish as well as clean, but I might just add another layer of polish as well when I do the van in October, to add extra protection for the winter.

The beauty of One Dry Wash is that I can do a bit at a time while I'm on site.  I can do one side of the van while the wife does the washing up!!

I think snow foamers just look good, makes it look like you are applying lots of cleaning solution on - foam everywhere.

As far as cleaning potential goes, I dont think they do a great job, plus you need to buy proper snow foam detergent for them to work properly and they are not all suited to caravans, car paintwork is different, I know lots of car valeters use them.

I am fanatical about my job, I like to leave every caravan I clean as best it can be, and if that takes more time etc then so be it. Usual time taken is 2.5 hrs for a tourer and 3.5 hrs for a static.

I have cleaned over 300 caravans with fenwicks and i have never had a single complaint and no one has ever said i charge too much, infact some say i dont charge enough, so that tells me both I  and fenwicks are doing our job properly.

I'm sorry if i seem a bit pro fenwicks but i suppose i am old fashioned in the way i go about my job and it works for me. However I do respect and value other peoples opinions and this is why i started the post to get feedback etc. I am always open to ideas and opinions to help achieve the best results possible.

The other downside to snow foamers is that some sites dont like all the foam etc running onto the floor / grass etc, not that it does any harm but you know what some people are like, the less water around the vans and the less detergents the better.

Thanks for your opinions everyone - keep them coming
