When I went to lower my Aerial the thread on the pole has split in two places causing the turning nut to jam anyone any ideas of how to release it.

Thank You so much for this link it actually shows what I thought was a splitting in the threads seems not so it must be a prblem with the mast locking plate it just will not move to allow the mast to come down ,once again thanks Michael
