I was browsing through the internet the other week and came across a company that applied liquid into your tyres so if you get a puncture when pulling your van it doesn’t affect the towing. Only down side to this was that the only place was down south.

I was looking on tow sure and came across UltraSeal Puncture Prevention so i wondered if any body else has used anything like this

Probably a waste of time with a caravan. The first i knew i had a puncture was in middle lane of motorway passing a lorry and and see in my mirror my tyre explode, very scary but no sealer will stop this .It is usually side walls that go with caravans.

I promise you I am not selling you anything, but I've used Puncturesafe (used to be called Ultraseal) for years and it has worked perfectly for me on several ocassions.

Punctursafe suggest that it represents a permanent seal, but I do not take that chance.

What my experience has proven is that if penetrated by the usual nail/screw type of thing, your tyre will not deflate.  If using this product, you are advised to check your tyres for objects frequently.

So it gives you the opportunity to complete your journey without even knowing you have a 'puncture', check your tyres when on site, and get it fixed at your convenience.

Look up their website for full info.

not for me i need to know when i have a hole in the tyre and how big.just for instance a cut on the inside of the tyre could go unseen for months.near impossible to check without crawling under the van with a large torch..

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

I thought that the tyre can't be repaired once you have used this stuff.

I've used Tyre weld in the past, with about an 80-90% success rate, at a guess.

At least with that stuff you know you've got a puncture.

I am tempted by this stuff though, but I bet it's too expensive for me.

Some tyre shops will charge extra if you've used additives in your tyres as well (especially Tyreweld & stuff like that).
You're supposed to inform them that you have used it before they go to take it off the rim. This is because it leaves a terrible mess everywhere, & they may well have to clean it all off the rim before fitting a new tyre.
& as a lot of garages don't bother to deflate the tyre before putting it on the bead-breaker these days, they could end up splattering the stuff all over the place! (not to mention themselves).

Ultra seal works and increases wear resistance . Should work fine I've used it for my own motorbikes and trucks . But be warned check your tyres regular as because your tyre is the right pressure doesn't mean it hasn't pick up some damage
