Anyone come across this ? I decided to wash my van today and climbed up a ladder to do the roof first. I noticed very small black spots/ specs all over the roof,  concentrated more in certain areas. Tried washing with caravan cleaner and they just seem to fade a bit and not come off??

Any ideas what to use to get them off ?  ( whaever they are van isn't under any trees etc )

Thanks

I had this on my old van, I used some Tcut then some car polish after a good scrub but I didn't get it all off to be honest. I've no idea what it is but it's hard work trying to get it off.

I think white spirit is worth trying too, I seem to remember it removing some of those black spots when I was cleaning off excess sealant after resealing the centre roof strip.

I've not got as far as cleaning the roof on my current van but I bet that is the same.

Mines the same, makes the roof surface rough to the touch. I clean my roof regularly so its not green but I don't run my fingers on my roof and can't be seen unless up close so I don't worry about it.

just a thought,if your van is parked/stored near a railway line tiny particals of metal are blown on the wind.these tiny bits go very black after a time.as a rule the spots are all on one side of the caravan facing the line.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
