that' the reason why we never use a shower in the 'van - along with the moisture in the van syndorme and we really say that caravans are made to a high enough standard for them to be used a regular shower homes? we have caravanned for 30 years and never yet used the shower - apart from keeping fruit and veg in it

I agree we do'nt use our shower for the moisture reasons. Ok for wash and brush up, shaving etc. Most sites have good showers.

You will get away with using silicon sealant carefully applied. But keep your eye on it! Not a permanent fix. But it`s what I use in my old Daystar. It works, and the shower does get used frequently. I sheall endeavout to do someything more permanant. Someday . . .

The plastic shower trays that come with the majority of caravans are prone to cracking because the thin plastic is not fit for purpose. We fitted our Elddis Avante with a fibreglass shower tray and what a difference. Cost us £185.00 from www.caravanshowertrays.co.uk

I repaired one with epoxy putty once which did a very good job. Once applied it can be smoothed with water until it dries. Once dry it can be sanded down and painted. I wouldn't recommend spraying it in place though with the door closed to avoid overspray like I did... Not unless you want a cheap high and a cough.
