Got my caravan serviced, went to pay the bill today.

Good news service completed. bad news.

Roof rotten around the flue.

Caravan is a burstner 2002 ventana.

It seems to be dry/ fee from damp now. Result of 20 around the flue, but not alot of rain at the moment.

Any reconmendations.

Re seal around the flue & regular checks.

The sponge effect can be found probably 20 cm's inwards from the flue.

Which sealant is best?

I apologise if this has been asked a million times.

Hoping for some good news. gutted with this news today.

regards

Graham

I would remove the flue cowl, clean with white spirit then wipe over with meths. Reseal using the mastic on a roll,

Presume the flue inside the van is inside a wardrobe/cupboard, so would leave that for now until you can be sure the reseal has worked.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes the flu is inside a cupboard.

Would it be overkill to apply a sealant around the seal as well.

When I reseal I always use the mastic tape and for a nice finish I tend to use Sikaflex 221, so no I dont think it would be overkill....
