Could anyone tell me what the correct name for the piece of glass that sits beside the hob to stop the wind blowing out the gas when the door is opened?

We arrived at the caravan site for a couple of days away only to open the door to find small cubes of glass all over the carpet. We do not know what happened as nothing had fallen from the cupboards and hit it, but now need to know what to look up to get a replacement.

Thanks in advance
Nush

Did you find a supplier?  I have the glass guard but hubby broke one of the hinges, its quite a deep hinge as it has to flip up from under the edge of the worktop and can't source one anywhere....any help would be great.

Thanks

ask here they will give you the component number for the glass then you can order it from your dealer.they do not sell to the public.have caravan details ready when you ring ie make /year /chassis number/cooker make /if glass has a number on it give that too.

if all else fails you can go to a glass cutter and tell him it has to be heatproof he should be able to make one.

You cannot cut toughened glass, it needs to be cut before tempering. Simplest solution would be to get on made from a piece of stainless steel.

I have the glass, it's the bracket that has broken - however, I have used a metal expoxy to wrap and bond the broken pieces together and am going to use my hobby tool to try and gently sand and mould and see if it's strong enough - until I can find a replacement.  Fingers crossed.

Thanks
