I am half way through restoration of a 1980/82? Lunar Venus 400. Ive replaced all rotten wood/framework inside and now need to move on to a complete re-seal. The van has had some work done previously and somebody has attempted a reseal using silicone and replaced the screws with ones that have rusted!! You can imaging the mess and damp! Needless to say the awning rail removed from the back side of the van has been badly damaged and I think will have to be completely replaced with a whole new one. Im struggling to find somewhere that will supply it - HELP!!! Ive been told that rails are unique to each make/model? Im now stuck but desperate to move forward in order to get Daisy back to her former glory!
Does anyone know of anywhere I could get new rails please??

Can you get a new one that looks similar?

I remember when I bent the rail on my Avondale, it was only 9 years old but the dealers couldn't get the same rail so they bent the old one back. (This was before Avondale went out of business)

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

I got new rails online at O'Learys Motorhomes sales and repairs. They were really quick too.

Thanks - I left my husband (unsupervised) to remove it. He ended up forcing the whole thing off! It looks like a string of spaghetti!! Its bent, kinked and dented beyond repair - cross is not the word! Its the rail that seals the roof and the side panel together so it doesnt actually need to be an awning rail as such but I have no experience in this so not to sure what my options are!
