Hi All,

A little piece of advice please? I have just returned from a weekend away and when winding the steady down it made a grinding noise and refused to move any further , (it stopped about 2" from the top). I got under the van and noticed a stainless steel strip had got caught up in it. I have removed this but the steady is still not moving. Is the steady broken or can it be repaired ? If it needs to be replaced how hard are they to remove?

It was a bit of a fiddle getting the thing off. Once off I found the spindle down the middle was bent and getting stuck on the leg as it turned. After a bit of brute force and ignorance I managed to straighten it out.
