First thing you need to do is reseal the awning rail or anywhere else you suspect until you see no more water coming in. Then let the van dry out totally....
As for replacing the timbers, it can be done but I would only do that if they are completely rotten and crumbling, otherwise you should dry out the van and give them a good soaking with wood hardner. ( if the timbers are not rotten they can be difficult to remove from the ally skin)
Be careful not to strip too much of the wallboarding/framework out all in one go as this will make the structure of the van unstable.....
