Hi all, have removed the pump from my toilet,I have read somewhere on this site that a thetford pump does not have to fitted.Has anyone bought a replacement and if they have from who ? and how much should I expect to pay ?
if you have fitted the new pump was it easy to get the pump wire thru into the closet where the cassette goes in order to reconnect it? the pump on mine is playing up and tho locating the pump is easy it looks a bit dodgy when it comes to gettin the wire thru. oh incidentally mines a c2 system.
If I remember correctly on a C2 you chop the wires off close to the pump and join them to wires on new pump with shrink tube to keep water out of joint. I did one a few years back with a non Thetford pump I had laying about. The only problem was the clamp that holds the pump in place was shaped for the Thetford pump and the water pipe connector was a slightly different size but with a bit of bodge engineering I got them to fit and in fact I think the pump was better than the Thetford one.

i think it is easier to chop the wire. i will have to make sure the replacement pump comes with a shrink sleeve for joining. seen em on ebay for less than £15.
Sorry for the late reply, yes I cut the wire close to the pump and it did come with heat shrink sleeve,I also had to pack around the new pump to make it fit,I used some sponge taped to the pump and it works fine
