Hi, need advice from someone please, the gas ignition and control knob has come off its mounting  but I am not sure how it fixes into place at the bottom of the rod. There is an aluminium piece with a v cut into it,  one end has a screw hole which I believe screws into the bottom of the plastic part but how does the aluminium secure to the plastic piezo ignition? Any help greatly appreciated as the van was cold last weekend without the heater.

thanks for that I have done this but still cannot make out how the aluminium rod connects to the piezo igniter.

cheers but did not want to ask him as I presume he is busy, I have found out the unit is the 2000A from the label on the right of the heater as you look at it in situ. I need to know if the gas valve stem needs to be secured and if so where and how it is secured, as it just pulls out from the base of the unit.

PS. I have the instruction manual, came with the van when I bought it, but it does not state if and how it is secured. From the illustrations it appears the stem is in place when the unit is installed but doen't state whether it comes that way.

Many thanks for the help, got the bits sorted out and tested it out hey presto warmth where there was none. Decided not to put a screw in it or seal it as getting the stem back in would take less time now I know what to look for in future. Once again many thanks for the advice it is good to know there people willing to help out with their expertise.

Hi arc systems.

I have had a gas leak which a mobile caravan repairman traced to my carver 1800. he isolated it and seems to think repair is impossible tho all he did was investigate underneath.

Are spares still available as I like to camp without electric sometimes in autumn so would be good not to right it off.

Hi Gary,

OH just discovered that the outlet pipe for the chimney not connected to back of space heater but there is the pipe to the blown air pump connected instead. Is this normal or should they both be connected, or do you remove the blown air pipe from the back of the heater and replace it withthe chimney one if you do not want blown air?
