Can anyone advise what is best to use for sticking a new rubber seal  to our front locker door on our caravan?

silicone? or a non drying sealant?

Silicone isn't a good adhesive, a waterproof contact adhesive would be better - a waterproof evostik type glue I think.

Hi there
I had a problem with re securing windows to their rails a while back and I was recommended stuff called PU18.   It did a great job on these and also on the front locker rubber seals.   It goes 'off' quite quickly so you don't have much time to settle the rubber, but it should be fine.

They are usually not stuck down with anything,what if u have to remove it ?

Maybe the last owner stuck it down because it was stretched or it was leaking ive never known one to be stuck down in all the vans ive had.?.

 when we took it off, it was just a dab here and there of silicone sealant. Have put new one on without anything and it fits well.

Unfortunately, we still have leaky locker!

An old trick to find a leak was to use really black coffee,as water is clear and is hard to spot sometimes.Just stir it into a watering can of cold water and go round the seal.Any coffee thats getting in should show up a black run.
