Hi, just another in the series of never ending leaks I have with my van!
I need some runny sealent. I bought Stickyflex 501, but it needs to go into a tight bend underneath the hinge end of the poptop on the inside. Very tight indeed. I managed to get the sikaflex there just about, but it needs a different sealer, one that will run down inside the lip where the odd spot of water is coming in.
I have tried Captain Tolleys, but it's too big a crack for that. Any suggestions?
The only other thing I can think of doing is pushing the sikaflex down inside this lip with a knife, as I need to get it right down to the bottom.
Thanks for the advice, Al and Mel. If no-one comes up with owt easier, that's exactly what I will do - - I hate stickyflex! It gets everywhere and won't come off!
It would be easier just to run something a bit runnier into this bit, it's acting like the U-bend on a sink when it rains!
I could do with something half way between sikaflex and cap'n tolleys! Which will run in and then sort of flexibly set, then I could do both sides and it would meet in the middle, in theory!

melt candle wax into it i guarentee itl seal for years
Sounds good - except when the sun gets on it - I would think it would melt in the sun, then set for the rain!
Someone on another site said to heat the area with a hairdryer then use a hot glue gun to seal, as it has to run down... will maybe try that one... When I get back from my latest trip out tomorrow - with towel in hand!
