Hi , just coming to the end of fixing my van, thanks to alot to the help on here with great advice and patience , i did try the solvent free gripfill but doing a test piece i did see couple of problems with it , firstly it says on tube that at least 1 surface must be porous, given that aluminium and polystyrene are neither, made me try the test piece and although this did bond i found that it was prone to cracking when dry and coming away from the aluminium, given this i opted for Tech 7 adhesive and sealer which says bonds both polystyrene among other materials inc aluminium , also tried Soudal Fix All adhesive and sealer which is also for polystyrene and aluminium, both did and excellent job with great bond . Although they are about £10 each ( can be got cheaper online ) i found it was worth it as it was specific to task, when bonding 2 flat surfaces not alot of adhesive is required not as though extra is required to fill gaps with wall panels , same adhesive works as well on timber etc , I did use solvent free gripfill when bonding timber to timber where i was sure area would not be exposed to moisture. Hope this helps a little. Remember its only a problem if it cant be fixed for everything else theres Mastercard.
