Hi there,

We have recently become the proud owners of a 1991 Avondale Leda Cheviot. It has been left to stand for 12 months and needs to love spending on it !

It is has three opening windows at the front and on the inside there is a small gap of about 3 inch. In this spot there is a hole about 1 1/2 inch.  The area does not appear to be damp.  The question is - how do we go about repairing it ?  Do we tack a piece of ply over it or what ?  Is this something that we can do or is it a bigger job requiring specialist help ?

Also (sorry to go on) on a couple of windows there is a peice of plastic which goes inside the window seal - this has curled up slightly but the caravan window is still watertight.  Does anyone know how to secure this back down.

We got the caravan at a very reasonable price £1500 (we think ?) and apart from these points cannot find any other problem - yet ! So we would like to try and make it right.

Any help and advice to us newbie caravanners will be most welcome.

Cheers  Rachel

Hi Rachel

Sorry I can't help - I'm not technically minded - but I am sure someone will be of help throughout the day.

Good luck in the repair

Hi Jenny,

No, the hole is half way down the front of the caravan in between the windows.

Thanks for your reply
