Hi,

I noticed last week that our shower tray has cracked (about 7cm) and there might be another couple of places it's starting to go. It's a 1998 Elddis van and it looks like the shower tray is part of the whole washroom unit and not a separate part. It's a corner unit with sink, with the shower tray I think butted up to the toilet.

I'm inexperienced at DIY but will give things a go if someone can tell me what to use and also give me some idiot proof instructions.

We don't use the shower often but often enough that I don't want it to not be an option. I am also worried about water that may have already got through and any damage that might have caused but don't know where to look or what to do about it.

Sorry if I appear a bit dim but we only bought the caravan in Feb and it's our first. We don't have a lot of money for repairs and we love the caravan and want to keep it in good order.

Any help very much appreciated.

Vikki

Vikki, you might want to have a read through THIS thread.

There is a company called Tuftek that may be able to repair it for you.

I repaired a cracked shower room floor in our old Excalibur motor home many years ago when we were skint. (Obsolete floor panel anyway so not replaceable).

I used a fibreglass matting repair kit from Halfords. Drilled holes to stop crack spreading. basically coated the damaged area carefully with fibreglass matting then, once dried and set hard, smoothed over with isopon filler. Sanded smooth once set and painted it with undercoat and then gloss, yes gloss paint to colour match to rest of shower room. Please not that this repair lasted years. two kids and two adults , sometimes granny too used the washroom and it took heavy use and abuse. the floor was still good when the motorhome was scrapped due to damp ingress from the roof.Hope this helps.
