I have bought a caravan, a Craftsman miracle 155, 4 berth, think its 1994,and have checked everything over and seems to work fine but cannot get the loo to flush..the pump does not start. I realise it could be the pump and will happily replace this once I am sure it is this but want to be sure first!!
I have changed the fuse in the fuse box and fished out the pump from underneath the toilet roll holder and it does rotate slowly when I do it manually. I have been told that there is a fuse in the cabinet where the cassette goes...I have searched and searched but cannot locate it.. :( any idea just where to look ????
I have also searched and searched for info about my caravan but cannot find any info on that either.. :(
I would really appreciate any help as I am a total novice and have no-one to help or advise me..
I have at last found the fuse and changed it, it had gone, thought I was high and dry but...the pump still didn't work.
Jeff am I right in thinking that I have to cut the attaching cable to try it out on the battery to test it ??
and if so how do I re-attach it if the pump does work on the battery because obviously it needs to be a watertight seal?? oh and how do you test it on the battery please..
many many thanks
Bridgette
------------- I've never been to America but I've been in some states..
Get a new pump for around £15.00 on E-bay, it will come with full fitting instructions and the bits you need to do the job. The pumps are (they claim) made at the same place as the Genuine Thetford pumps and just badged differently, I have just fitted one and it works fine,
make surethe replacement pump for your toilet comes with new connectors and shrink tubing to make it waterproof if the one you buy does not have them you will have to find someone that sells them
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
