We bought a Cadet 10 yesterday and I need to know where to start! It appears to be a bit damp as it had a puddle in the light fitting. The panels are a bit soft in the corners. Is it easy to replace the panels if I start to rip them out. Maybe someone in the Manchester area could recommend a good place to buy cheap new panels. Where do I start! I am very in experienced with repairs but really want to have a go at fixing this little lovely up so it is safe to use.
Thanks
Lindsey
I would put a cover on of some sort - stop any more wet getting in. failing that, as already mentioned, find out were its getting in and tackle that. dont be afraid of the size of the job, its not too hard to fix, just takes a while.
get all your rotten timber out, and if you need cheap panels, just use 3mm ply and bond matching sticky plastic to it like fablon. If you dont mind a bit of diy, it is very rewarding to repair yourself and could be done very cheaply.
Thanks for the encouragement. I was just concerned that if I start to take the panels out, it may be to difficult to put new ones back in once I have located the leak. I will put a tarp over it this weekend as it looks like it will pour down.
The panel under the window, looks ,like it will be the hardest to take out. Can anyone recommend a book or site that can give me the best advice?
Thanks
