Hi everyone im away with a friend hes got a 2008 swift challenger 540 the one with the digital control above the door now his problem is this the battery is loosing charge now weve swapped his battery with mine and the same thing is happerning but to make things worse when the battery dies the van wont work on240/12 nothing at all works now ive got a abbey freestyle 540 same van without the digital display and even with no battery atached everthing on my van still works any ideas
Are the fuses ok, main switch is on, other then that it might be the power supply (psu) has gone walk abouts,
check to see if the 240v lights are working in the van.just maybe the charger in the psu has gone. You can check if you have a meter to see if the battery is charging, but it dont sound like it.

Its not a hangover, its wine flu!
I had the same sort of problem with my Charger, i checked all the fuses in the van everything was great but nothing at all from the charger. Took the charger out, drill out the rivets in side is a spade use, replaced and hey presto of we went again.
To test this take the batery off, Put a voltomter on the +/- leads and see if you are getting any charge from the charger.
But as to why you have no 240 as well is beyond me
Hi hes getting power through the ehu and the van works
fine but the battery is been drained and as soon as the battery as less than 9volts the display doesnt function my mate thinks this is the way it works all fuses are fine we are both scratching heads al we are going to do is keep swapping batteries over an sort it when he gets home
it sounds as if the charger is not working, remove the battery & with 240v ehu connected check the battery connection leads with a meter set to 20v dc (red to red black to black)you should get 13.8 volts if not the charger is suspect
sounds like the charger has stopped charging.with EHU connected check at battery it should be 13.5 to 14 volts.
check battery to see its gets warm if so its faulty.check all fuses.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Hi all and thanks its seems its the charger does anyone know how much it it as weve been online and cant find it an plus internet is not good avin to travel away from site just to get a signal its a nordelettronica model number is ne143_mh thanks
Sargent They provide the new PSU's for Swift now and if you call them they will advise the best option as they 'know' the problems with the Nordelectronica systems.

You could buy a smart charger like i did which is a lot cheaper, around £34 just splice it in to the output wires of the knacked one.remember to disconnect the power supply to the old charger first.
