Looks like the bottle gas side has been bought, so supply should be assured.
if they did away with the stupid deposit scam they might get more people changing over from calor gas to them .a good idea spoilt by the usual rip off britain thinking .
makes me wonder if the continental dealerships /stockists/users pay the deposit like we are conned into .and BTW its a receding deposit to for all of them .so if at some future date you decide to pack in caravaning or camping your deposit is no longer there ,TOTAL SCAM
In France the deposit for camping/caravanning size bottles such as Twinny or LeCube is between 17 & 27€ so less than Calor which is £30, I think. The larger 13/15kg bottles have cheap deposit only 9€. Refill costs are slightly less. Carrefour & LeClerc supermkts have introduced their own brand bottles which are even cheaper.
I hope it is marketed better than BP's half hearted efforts. With the right distributors and marketing it could put a large dent in Calor's profits. I have always liked the 10kg Gas Light bottles but have been reluctant to change to them because of the poor availability in the areas I need them.
The list kinked to by Bob above makes interesting reading, There are some names form the dark past such as BottoGas which my dad used to sell when I was a toddler, and Unigas who I seem to remember were Norwich based and had a dabble with lightweight aluminium bottles and were the first that I can remember to bring out 6kg propane bottles.

Don't think so they charge a deposit the same as calor,I can understand in the case of heavy steel gas bottles (scrap prices?) but lightweight GRP cannot be recycled in this way ,just rip off Britain again, any manufacturing costs per bottle should be inbuilt in the price structure anyway .
