I have brought a second hand Alko hitchlock
TYP1 -ET1 811202 It has arrived but it does not fit,it seems the lock will not go in? Any one have an ideas please, frustrated.
I tried everything still not fit I put some tippex on the barrel and when tried to lock it it seems to be to big for the hole. I took a couple of photos but don't know how to put them on here.
Thanks for all that have tried to help, looks like I have been done.
By the way I have a silver alko hitchlock which works fine, but they are not secure mainly for trailers.
I have to fiddle about with mine, I thought at first mine didnt work but it does,, have only put it on 3 times, and the 3rd time took me longer than the 1st. I am sure it will be ok.
If the lock works as it should when holding it in your hand, there is no reason why it wont fit. Keep trying

Can you post a picture of your lock as i can find type 1 but nothing referring to the other number you have given.
You could upload the photo to your gallery, otherwise I think you need to use some web based storage site like Photobucket. If you do a search on this site there are some good links on how to do it. Although I have never got round to doing it yet, but looks easy enough.
Not sure but you mention you have a silver hitch not a red one, this could be an Al-ko German model, don't know if the fittings are different, if you can sort out upload a photo of the hitch might help.
