Hello,

I have a Sprite Major (1987). I have had it about 12 years. It does not smell of damp but I am pretty sure I have ingress in a few places.

It has a seam on each side which is basically an ovelap on the Aluminium. I noticed recently a bulge inside on the wall board pretty much in line with the seam.I was at a REALLY Windy site a few weeks ago so I am asuming that the wind has driven rain info that seam, soaked the wood underneath which in turn has expanded and bulged the wallboard.

I do need to do some repairs to the front area and reseal the outside sealing rails (Awning etc). However, I can't see it is practical to remove ALL the sie wallboard to get at this specific piece of wood. Any ideas/comments welcomed.

I have a 80s caravan & all I do is ensure there are no gaps in the outside joints & seams. Use Sikaflex or similar & it does the job, force the nozzle under the seams as you apply it. Once the outside is sealed the inside should dry out eventually. This is far easier than stripping out the inside. There seems little point in doing extensive repairs to an old caravan in the last few yrs of it's life.

Horrid damp, hope it clears up fast for you, in this great weather it should dry out fast with all the windows open?
