Just got back today after a rather wet week in the Trossachs. Came to put the caravan back onto the drive and after only moving about 5ft there was a nasty crunching sound. When I checked I found that one of the grit rollers had literally disintegrated. I still managed to get the van onto the drive ok. So, I'm going to need a couple of new grit rollers fitted. Has anyone ever fitted new rollers to the Powrtouch mover ? Just interested to know if Powrtouch supplied the parts ok and what sort of a job it was to change them. Looking at the rollers it would seem that by removing the three bolts from the end caps that the old rollers should slide off and the new ones just slide back on. But, in the real world this probably won't happen !! Any advice or comments on this would be appreciated. Cheers.
Had the same problem but luckally still under warranty. Powertouch mechanic came round and fitted 2 rollers. The bearings inside had collapsed. It took him about an hour to fit both. It didn't look to difficult a job and he said if out of warranty they come with full fitting instructions.
------------- live for today as tomorrow ma never come.
had ours done a few years ago now under warranty(changed for alloy type rollers).removed the outside caps (3 bolts) and the rollers just slipped onto a locking pin.think the newer ones go into the gearbox.the hard bit was the bearings in the end caps had siezed solid and it took him three hours to replace them.

Countrymusicfan, which model of Powrtouch mover have you? I upgraded my rollers to alloy rollers a couple of years back and still have the original grit rollers which are in reasonably good condition. My mover is a Model 1, are these of any use to you?
Vectratot...............Thanks for the offer of the rollers. I'm quite interested in possibly upgrading to the alloy ones. I'm assuming that the alloy ones are a direct replacement without having to do any changes. Also, could you tell me what the surface of the alloy rollers are like ie, ridged, dimpled or whatever. Did you find that upgrading to the alloy ones was beneficial, giving better grip etc ?

My alloy rollers spiked but not sharp not ridged or dimpled very much like the old grit type. Mover works just the same as with the grit rollers, I did re-gap the rollers [20mm] as I also fitted new tyres at the same time. I loosened the three 10mm spanner size studs on each end plate and withdrew the rollers, applied copperslip and refitted new rollers complete with spacer`s one each side [nylon washer`s] that were supplied with the rollers, five minutes per side very easy.
Since my last posting I've been in contact with Powrwheel asking about the new alloy rollers and they've supplied me with a new pair for £50 inclusive of vat and carriage in two days. I fitted the new rollers this morning. The nearside one came off fairly easily with just a couple of taps with a hammer but the offside one was stubborn. I removed the wheel for easier access and after a good soaking in penetrating oil, a lot of swearing and a good bash with the hammer it came off. I fitted the new rollers using copperslip to prevent any future seizing. The whole job took about an hour from start to finish. So, hopefully they should last a lot longer.
