Had a chance to take a good look at the van over the last few days,(1991 Lunar Venus), & noticed a 'bit' of damp in the front corner,(door side), so decided to investigate, boy did I open up a can of woodlice. Virtually the whole wall from the centre rail down has been leaking,(not checked in the bedroom yet), it's worse in some places than others and where it's bad it's terrible, the whole of the wood batten that the rail is attached to had to come out,(fell out in pieces mainly), and the ply was just soaking wet and I scraped it off. Just inside the door behind the cooker the damp seems to go up at least three quarters of the way,(not checked behind the overhead cupboards yet), and all the way down to the floor, it's even affected an area of the floor and the wooden batten that runs parallel with it and the door frame will need replacing. I've read through some of the repair sections so pretty much know what to do with the walls but there are a few questions I need answering. 1st off what should I do with the floor,(is there a step by step guide somewhere), do I just cut the old ply out & fit a new section?, how do I get to the bottom length of wood to remove it & attach a new one?, it looks like I'll need to remove the inner wheel arch/cover but how do I do this?, finally,(for now), here & there under the old wallboards there are small square pieces of wood that don't come flush with the wall but nothing seems to be fixed to them, any ideas what they are for. BTW can I/how do I attach pics to my posts so I can give a better idea of the problems?
Sorry to throw so much at you guys, I plan to have a go at all the work myself but just need some idea of how to go about it.
Thanks very much.

Floor is 5mm ply - 30mm foam - 5mm ply bonded. Cut out and re-bond worst bits, or re-laminate with epoxy, make new sub frames where necessary.

For photos, upload to photobucket imageshack etc and use link they provide.

Looks like mine. I had to strip it back to the outer shell and rebond 25mm xtratherm in there and then bond 4mm ply over the top. its a labour of love im afraid.

Cheers Dave, yep it will be a labour of love as I love doing things like this. Thanks for the links Macquatic I've been going through the repair guides for a few days now, some real inspiration in there, you're not kidding about a busy winter, I have a Mk1 Hilux that I've got to do loads of stuff to including fitting a power steering box & giving it a full respray, a Mk3 Hilux that needs a full front axle rebuild amongst other things, the caravan to sort & plenty of tree work,(I'm a self employed tree surgeon), including a few weeks work in the woods here on the farm & a few other big jobs. Think I'll be ready to go away in the van by the time Spring comes around. On the subject of the floor do I just try to peel a section of board off & replace, the blue foam stuff looks ok tbh, & what about the bottom length of timber can I access this from underneath or do I have to do it from inside, hopefully it's only a small section that needs repairing, I'll know more by midweek hopefully.
