Hi how do i fit a new battery charger to bailey 464 2011

The charger is usually integrated into the top portion of the consumer unit (where all the fuses are). Once the covers removed, the charger is in a section in the top and can slide outwards to disconnect.



Just curious though, has the charger packed up? Is it not still within any warranty?

Hi I am thinking of an upgrade CTEK multi MX5.0 battery charger & conditioner,

I usually have the power connected all the time the caravan is stored at home and thinking about fitting the above,

There is nothing wrong with the bailey one just thinking the CTEK would be more symperthect to my battery

The internal van charger isn't the best at fully charging the battery anyway and not too wise to leave connected permanently.
I have a C-Tek MXS5.0 and it is safe to leave this connected to the battery in parallel, providing van charger is off (EHU disconnected). The C-Tek should have had an optional quick-connect cable provided that allows permanent fitment to the battery clamps; I have my charger within a weatherproof box on the outside wall and couple it to the van for ease when necessary, and the C-Tek of course is ok to leave connected.

It's possible of course, that a dealer might try and argue against an associated warranty claim you might have to make, if there's a non-standard charger retro-fitted in place of the original.

i have mine bailey 500/5 connected 24/7 on EHU at home but its on a timer.switches on for 4 hours a day.this charges the battery and keeps it full.do not use a cheap timer they are dangerous and a fire risk.

Have bought Ctek and connected to the battery in parallel The C-Tek did have an optional quick-connect cable, I used this and just popped the charger alongside the battery in the battery box it a large box plenty room.

Made up new lead from garage to caravan all now net and tide and water proof

Good stuff, glad you've got this sorted with what is (in my opinion) a neater and better way of tackling the task.
The C-Tek chargers are excellent.
