We've just bought our first caravan a 1994 Abbey Lincoln 2 birth but it hasn't had an oven fitted & has a 2 burner hob, so can I fit an oven & 3 burner hob from an other Abbey Lincoln van of any age or will it be more agro than it's worth.
------------- Thanks
Ken

Constipated mathematicians have to work it out with a pencil
I looked into this with our previous caravan and was told by a caravan breaker that not all caravan cookers are the same size. In the end I fitted a Flavel oven inside one of the cupboards. I don't think he was fobbing me off as the Flavel oven was cheaper than the full cookers so he was in effect selling less than I was initially asking for.
In actual fact, it was a waste of money as I think we only used it twice.
Another thing to be aware of is that the weight of the new oven and hob will use up some of your payload.
Also, depending where your kitchen is situated, it may have some impact on handling when towing, especially if at the rear of the van.
My van doesn't have an oven or hob - I use my cartridge stove and a fantastic mini oven from Lidl.
I fitted a one piece Maxol Burco twin burner hob and oven into a cupboard in my van beneath the grill, I don't use the two burners as the van has a four burner hob anyway so the hob top is fitted up to the bottom level of the grill. Fitted a three way isolation valve to replace the existing two way one. Regularly use the oven well worth the time and effort.
