Hi, just been to change battery on van at storage yard and noticed water has been dripping in. I have a theory that the recent snow has put pressure with the weight on seal around skylight.
Ive dried it all off and tried to remove skylight after removeing all fixings it will not budge out of housing.
I have cleaned and dried all around skylight and syliconed all around it.
How do you get these lights out ?
Thanks.
Having just done one yesterday, it's not a quick job - you need to cut around the mastic seal from the outside and remove the retaining clips from inside before lifting it off.
Once you remove the hinges for lifting it up and down the roof part of the light will come off.The part that it fits into is in 2 halves top and bottom and held together by screws on the bottom half which you will see looking up at around the edge.
Take off the bottom half then the top part on the roof.
Seal round vent hole with w4 tape or sealant.
Replace the top and screw the bottom part to it.Rebuild is in reverse..hope this helps.
