Amazing. Thanks Jax. My husband and I (just call me Queenie) were reading some blogs on the fixed it club this morning and saying thank gawd for the internet.
The damp has paled in comparison to the MASSIVE spider I just found lurking under the seats :D I might have to dump the van after all.

From looking at your photos, I think you might need a bit more doing than just replacing the black trim in the middle!
Spider - herd it into a glass jar with a bit of typing paper, tip up the jar, so the spidey can't climb the sides, take outside and then evict it!
I've got some mastic on a roll to re-embed the front trim. The other trims need doing too.
There's pinholes too - presumably from the van being wet from the inside for quite some time. I'm thinking the Isopon will be useful for that? The more we look at it the more we find, which I get the feeling is quite common?
I've started a blog to document how it's going. I feel quite hopeful about it as something which is going to take some time to complete but I'm not blind to exactly how much work s needed.
we done the same last year, only we paid £1,500 for a van full of damp, i was crying, but then i found this site, and with some great advice we have replaced the whole frame, now she is as solid as a rock........cant wait to take her out for the first time....just need a bigger tow car lol....
Hi Vicw4114 , welcome to UKcampsite , well done on giving your damp repairs a go , if you get stuck or need advice just post on here or email me and The Fixed it Club members will help you out ,
I know that this is such an old thread but for those who have similar problems especially dump you could use the Strabrite cleaning products. They are fantastic for removing dump and mildew. Be careful with it using it on textiles as it might decolorate.
