I am actually embarrassed 2 say i know none of the answers 2 model make or age but i can post pictures as soon as i work out how 2 i also have a abi harmony roughly late 80's but interior is shocking! would it be possible 2 swap complete interior from first van 2 the abi make one excellent caravan out of 2 dogs lol or am i being ridiculous
That's what i thought 2 its a right mess no the front end but my glass half full mentality keeps telling of bit of baton couple of screws and floor boards soon have it looking like a botched job lol
The leg mount will come off on problem could i ask a really big favour could you take five minutes 2 explain step by step how 2 repair floor because there is a big enough gap on front for me to get my hand through i would be very gratefull if anyone could do this many thanks
What you need to do is patch it up with wood best you can & then fill the whole area in with Isopon P40 to glue it together & waterproof it. P40 is car body filler that is filled with chopped glassfibre mat to give it strength. Buy it from Halfords. Once you have repaired the area with wood, knock up a small amount of P40 at a time & spread it into the gaps with a spatular, it starts going off after about 10mins so just keep building up layers until you have a nice strong repair.
Its because it works & has done since the 70s when I was repairing rust holes in my old Cortina. There is so much posted up here about doing 'proper' repairs on old caravans that are only going to last a few more yrs when all that is needed is a strong bodge to give you a usable caravan.
I don't see the point doing a professional job for something that only cost me a weeks wages, BODGE IT! ENJOY I! SELL IT! LOL thank you for your help i.l be repairing this weekend and will post how it went. Btw my day had a cortina he was constantly filling it thing looked like a sieve
