Hi anyone who can help im very new 2 caravanin i have discovered the caravan i bought has a bloody great big gap between the floor and front panel under the double bed/food table not only this the actual front of caravan has come away from the A frame any repairing tips would really help me a lot this will be a diy fix as no money left for professional repairs PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!

sounds extremely dodgy and potentially dangerous ,it would help us to advise if we know what caravan ,make model year etc and if possible any photos of it

I am actually embarrassed 2 say i know none of the answers 2 model make or age but i can post pictures as soon as i work out how 2 i also have a abi harmony roughly late 80's but interior is shocking! would it be possible 2 swap complete interior from first van 2 the abi make one excellent caravan out of 2 dogs lol or am i being ridiculous

It looks like it has been towed with the leg down and mangled the leg

That's what i thought 2 its a right mess no the front end but my glass half full mentality keeps telling of bit of baton couple of screws and floor boards soon have it looking like a botched job lol

I think the caravan is a sovereign as to the year and model still working on that ?

The floor is repairable with batons & Isopon P40. The leg mounting looks a bit of a mess. Can you remove the damaged leg ok & fit a replacement?

The leg mount will come off on problem could i ask a really big favour could you take five minutes 2 explain step by step how 2 repair floor because there is a big enough gap on front for me to get my hand through i would be very gratefull if anyone could do this many thanks

What you need to do is patch it up with wood best you can & then fill the whole area in with Isopon P40 to glue it together & waterproof it. P40 is car body filler that is filled with chopped glassfibre mat to give it strength. Buy it from Halfords. Once you have repaired the area with wood, knock up a small amount of P40 at a time & spread it into the gaps with a spatular, it starts going off after about 10mins so just keep building up layers until you have a nice strong repair.

Ok you like that p40 stuff I've noticed you comment on a few repair jobs saying 2 use that lol have you got shares in the company lol

Its because it works & has done since the 70s when I was repairing rust holes in my old Cortina. There is so much posted up here about doing 'proper' repairs on old caravans that are only going to last a few more yrs when all that is needed is a strong bodge to give you a usable caravan.

I don't see the point doing a professional job for something that only cost me a weeks wages, BODGE IT! ENJOY I! SELL IT! LOL thank you for your help i.l be repairing this weekend and will post how it went. Btw my day had a cortina he was constantly filling it thing looked like a sieve
