Hi all,

When we arrived on site a few days ago, the front of our Trumatic S3002 heater was hanging off, held on only by the wire and rod connectors to the top controls. The battery operated gas ignitor was clicking away and we can now only stop it by removing the battery in the fire; re-attaching the fire front hasn't fixed the problem.

Can anybody tell us what the problem might be and how we can fix it (other than by calling in an engineer!), preferably taking into account our somewhat limited electrical/mechanical skills.

they are designed to come off easy for cleaning ect,ie.only held by two clips at the top.sounds like when it fell forward the wire of the switch has bent the terminals and they are touching together or touching the casing.where the two wires join the switch make sure they cannot short out anywhere.bend them back out of the way so as not to touch anything.see video

Hi, probably one or more of three possibilities, ignitor failed, H.T.lead shorting out, switch in gas valve failed.

I wonder if the weight of the fire front hanging on the control rod has bent it?, this could then stop the control rod fully turning off and inturn switching the sparker off?
