A tip for any one fitting this.Part "D" has to fit flat on part "E" with a cerain amount of downward pressure. If part "D" the blade is not sitting flat on part "E" the blade will jump off when turning or it will crack part "E".
Ive seen this myself when some one has came onto the site and the blade is just hanging.
You may also find that the leaver for tentioning the leaf and releasing is very stiff to use, and carrying a length of tublular pipe to fit over it, as supplied with the similar Bulldog brand leaf stabilizers, makes the job much easier as you can get more leaverage than just trying to use that narrow rod alone.

I have an old chrome one, that's not a flat bar but a shaped rod. Chap from Bulldog said it wasn't one of theirs but he had seen them. He said a quick way to check the tension was to push it with some bathroom scales, & it should read about 3 stone when it moves. Just a bit of info.
