what is the correct size water pipes for the cascade 2 heater is it 3/8 or 1/2

Just read instructions says water connection male connectors to suit a 12 mm r/f hose.hope this helps

3/8" hose will fit but the fittings are 12mm so more designed for 1/2" hose.
Make sure either hose is fully on to the serrated part of the fitting and clip is also used here.
The smooth part of the fitting being only for attaching 'push-pull' semi rigid pipe fittings.
