Has anybody had a problem where rain blow's under the cowl and into the inside of the gas fire flue pipe?
we are finding the cardboard pipe in the wardrobe is getting wet through (on the inside of pipe) and going abit mouldy.

I haven't, but I did happen to read recently that Truma sell an adaptor to extend the flue to reduce draught and rain. You have to fit once on site and remove to tow again though.

The flue comes from the combustion area of the fire which is open through the floor. It is not open into the caravan, but effectively concealed in a tube that runs through the floor right through the roof.

Any water that gets through the flue should run out of the air intake in the floor.

We did at one point, used to put a plastic bag over - but remeber to take it off !

Dave is correct any water getting in flue outlet will run down to heater and if it does not evaporate will drip out of combustion air inlet,it cannot enter heat outlets as the combustion chamber is room sealed.

Some misconceptions here, first the top of the flue fits into a inner and outer tube mouldered into the plastic flue termination, this is mainly to stop flue gasses spilling back into the van, but also stops rain water getting in, water then must travel down inside the flue to the heaters outlet, here there is a drain pipe to lead the water outside under the van.

So if the water is getting out at the top and running down the outside of the flue, it most likely means the flue is not inside the termination and needs refitting correctly.

It can though also mean the flue terminations rubber seal on top of the roof is loose, hopefully not though?!
