Avondale Mayfly 2001
Truma/Whale water system

Had this problem when I bought van three years ago. It cured itself. Not this time. (BTW, dealer, reputable, had never heard of it before.)

Primimg system, on Auto setting, per handbook, green light on control panel never lights, pump runs continuously and water pours from cold tank overflow.

Adjusting pressure switch makes no difference at all not even at the tap; pump runs from external supply and pressure pump runs. Screwing switch control in & out alters nothing. Switching to internal immediately shuts off water and pressure pumps.

Suspect failed pressure switch but van serviced a week ago!

Any ideas?

As long as it builds up pressure then yes I would go for pressure switch.

Never mind the service, anything electrical can fail and will do without notice (!) pressure switches included. I agree with lunarvenus and would start investigations there.

Third agreement too, suspect pressure switch, regardless of how recent service was as I wouldn't be convinced this would have been checked particularly anyway.

Thanks, guys.

Will get someone out to have a look.

ITM, it appears that the Internal setting also runs the water pump to keep the tanks topped up so what's the difference between this and Auto?!

I'll play with it again today with the first thing being a sharp tap on the switch casing.

Edit: refilled Aquaroll, reconnected pump. Set to Auto to fill and - pump shut off on its own and green light is on.

Pressure switch is fluttering when tap is running so will screw down a half turn.

Maybe it's just a sticky pressure switch that needs to be run a few times? This is exactly what happened first time out after purchase after which it ran OK so fingers crossed.

Any thoughts on the auto pressure switch from Mid Service Centre?
