Now have a new to us caravan (2001) Sterling Europa 480/2 which is in lovely condition. However the previous owner told us he had repaired the Reich tap (the compact one which folds down so you can put the glass tray down over it). It is very flimsy!! However our first trip out the water is pouring out of the damaged area and obviously his repair didn't work. He gave us a new tap in case this happened. It is the whole tap but it has the hot and cold hoses attached to it and the electric safety thingies. Do you have to take the whole sink off to fit them?? Once you have done that are they easy to fit. We have been quoted £35 per hour to fit so are going to try to do it ourselves!! Any help would be appreciated!!! Although we have caravanned for years we are clueless as to how they work!!
I would give it a go.I did my tap last year but not the same as yours. On the corners of the sink there maybe little "buttons" prize them off and under them you will find screws that hold the sink.
A pen and paper is handy to mark where things go back.
The hot and cold pipes should just pull off as well as any wires attached to the switches (Take a note )
The tap which holds it on should have a big washer on it at the base loosen and tap should come off...hope this helps.
if you can get at the tap it is not hard to change.the safety thingy i think you mean mirco switches.once the tap is removed you need to transfer these to the new tap after fitting the two water pipes.if you cannot get at the tap from the underside.then £ 35 for the fitter is good investment.it would only take one hour.may not be same.........
Thanks both, for your helpful info, hubby is going to give it a go, we have the four screws in the corners of the sink and we will go from there, keeping a swear box handy!!

It does help a bit.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
