I also did not want to cut a hole in the side of my caravan so I bought a 25 meter EHU with 3 socket's and MCB and a RCD. I wired it into my existing EHU cable with about a meter going the van hook up. Now I can Clip the socket's to and awning poll. Or if not using an awning it clips to the chasse under the van, but as it is connected to the EHU it will be removed every time the caravan is on the road.
