Hi all,

beginning to get really p***ed with this dam infernal motor mover. Can anybody help in letting me know how to remove the bearing from the aluminium roller, Our unit on the near side has failed again and upon strip down have found that the bearing has failed and collapsed on the outer end (endcap). has this happened top others and how has it been repaired. Dont hold much hope with Purpleline support,. Looks like i need to pull the bearing guide / race from the roller. I have not removed the other side but last time i did to grease etc. the end cap was attached to the roller, via the bearing, and i am a little reluctant to try and prise if incase this gets damaged also.

Any help is welcome. thank you and much appreciated.

If you have the outer of the bearing only left in the roller try putting a rawlbolt in it with a piece of tube on it as a spacer .When you tighten bolt this should expand and grip it.Then hold bolt head in a vice and hit roller off.

Well just a quick update for all.

Finally got the remains of the old bearing out, had to first remove the two pins going through the roller and then find a washer big enough to fit down the centre of the roller. Then it was a simple case of a long Socket wrench bar up the inside and few quick sharp taps and the outer case fell out.

Order two new bearings from Bearings on line type 6000Z 26mmx10mmx8mm size. £3.00 each. Job done.

Hope this helps others if theirs fail.

To prevent them going again you need to fit 60002RS not ZZ as Z are only dust seals whereas RS is rubber shield to keep water out.

Good call birdman, mine were rusted on one side last year due to water ingress.

Birdman101 - Hi yes you are indeed correct and these have been fitted. The whole unit has been stripped cleaned and is due for refit this week end. I think alot of the problems being that the movers are fitted behind the wheels so get alot of spray, other than that when it works it works perfectly.

So heres hoping for a few more yrs out of it yet.

Hi
   Sorry for dragging up an old thread but we have just got our first van which has an Enduro mover on. I gave it the once over today & the outer bearing has completely disintegrated. So took the mover off and have got as far as removing the the end plate & dowels, but for the life of me I cannot get the roller off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum.
The only thing that holds the roller on to the drive-shaft is that end cover with the outer bearing on it, it should in theory be free to pull straight out. There is a little roll pin located in a 'T'shaped slot in the roller at the drive end and I suspect there is where the problem may arise, it could be corroded. Can you spray some releasing oil or similar down to it and let it soak in for a bit?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Once the little outer plate is removed, (3 bolts), there is nothing really holding the roller in as it has a slot at the far end that fits over the little roll pin. Perhaps that has rusted up badly? Copious releasing spray, leave it to sink in, and then a bit of brute force is the next choice, leverage from the back it should shift it.

Once out and ok, remove, clean & lubricate annually to prevent it from happening again.
