Hi,

As per title, I'm in the process of fixing up the damage caused by damp over a sustained period of time! Now I need to cut a good line in the good wood....

I don't want to use a chisel if possible, as I don't want to damage the lower thin edge of the ally that the wood is glued to.

The areas are marked in red circles where I need to clean cut the wood so I can join in a new piece of timber with glue and staples.

Any experiences?

how about a Dremel Multi? I know their expensive but i spashed out when replacing the sills on my car and really dont know how i managed to do DIY jobs before i had one in my tool box! Well worth the investment...

A plunge router = set the depth to slightly less than the distance to the ally. Its not a lot of help in tight corners but would make quick work of the bigger stuff.
